FNIGC announces recipient of its 2015 National Student Bursary

The First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) and its Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recipient of its 2015 National Student Bursary: Ms. Mary Smith of Beausoleil First Nation, Ontario. 

Ms. Smith is a third-year PhD Nursing student at the University of Victoria focusing on population health and chronic kidney disease. She will receive a $2,500 bursary to help support her studies.

New data offers comprehensive look at early childhood, education and employment realities in First Nations communities

New survey data released by the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) this week provides unprecedented insight into life in First Nations on-reserve and northern communities in Canada. 

The data represents the first to be released from the First Nations Regional Early Childhood, Education and Employment Survey (FNREEES, or REEES), a unique First Nations-led survey that explored a wide range of topics impacting life in nearly 250 First Nations communities in 10 provinces and two territories.

National conference to feature first results from landmark First Nations survey

The First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) is pleased to announce a three-day conference in November 2015 that will feature the release of initial, key findings from the First Nations Regional Early Childhood, Education and Employment Survey (FNREEES) along with workshops, guest speakers, and First Nations entertainers.
