Recipients of the 2016 FNIGC National Student Bursary announced

January 9, 2017 (Ottawa, ON) — The First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) and its Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2016 FNIGC National Student Bursary, which is awarded annually by the non-profit First Nations organization to two outstanding First Nations college or university students. 

The recipients of this year’s bursary are Mr. Kody Doxtator of Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario and Kathrina Chief Moon Riley, of the Blood Tribe (Kainai) Reserve in Alberta.

The Power of Data visits Kahnawake First Nation

It’s official! RHS Phase 3 data collection has wrapped up in the Quebec Region with nearly 3,000 surveys -- or 96.3 percent of their national sample target – collected as of May 1. Hearty congratulations to our diligent and hard-working Regional Partners at the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) who really gave it their all over the past year.

FNIGC’s new OCAP® course off to strong start; to be rolled out in French this fall

Last month FNIGC launched The Fundamentals of OCAP® course, a new initiative developed in conjunction with Algonquin College, and the response since has exceeded FNIGC’s expectations — with more than 100 people from an eclectic range of First Nations, government, and non-profit organizations signing up for the innovative online course.
