Nancy Gros-Louis McHugh

Huron-Wendat from Wendake, Nancy Gros-Louis McHugh graduated with a degree in Communications from the University of Laval. After graduation, she worked abroad for a few years which helped her to broaden her horizons when it comes to health issues that impact Indigenous people in North America.

Since 2002, Nancy has worked for the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC), where she is the Manager of Research and responsible for a multi-disciplinary team. She has coordinated several community research projects on different themes related to wellness.

Nancy is actively involved in the development of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Research Protocol (2005/2014). She is the co-author of the Toolkit of Research Principles in an Indigenous Context and was involved in the founding of the First Nations Information Governance Centre.
