Applications are now being accepted for the First Nations Information Governance Centre’s 2025 National Student Bursary, an annual award that recognizes outstanding Indigenous students at colleges and universities.   

This year, the FNIGC will award four $2,500 scholarships to four First Nations students enrolled full-time in a graduate program focused on health, social sciences or applied sciences, or who are studying an issue related to helping First Nations achieve data sovereignty. 

Recipients will also receive free registration in the “ Fundamentals of PCAP Principles ” course (valued at $500) and will have the opportunity to receive mentoring from the FNIGC First Nations Data Centre. 

The deadline for applications is Friday, 7 novembre 2025 at 12:00 PM EST. 

Established in 2011, the FNIGC National Scholarship is awarded annually to eligible First Nations students. Over the past 14 years, the program has awarded more than $825,000 to a total of 36 First Nations post-secondary students .
